REGISTRATION

NWEA is pleased to provide this Wastewater Grade 3 and 4 Refresher/Prep course.  This is a 2 ½ day event that includes instruction and practice that provides you with help as you prepare for your Wastewater Grades 3 and 4 exams. Sprinkled throughout the course there will be several individual and group practice sessions. We do not leave out the basics as they are important building blocks on the way to taking this advanced exam.  The following topics will be covered: Operator Math with an emphasis on using the ABC Formula and Conversion Tables, Primary and Secondary Treatment, Digestion, and Disinfection, with extra emphasis on Activated Sludge, troubleshooting and process control.  As time allows, we may also cover administration and personnel management.  We encourage you to bring your questions, a calculator, a highlighter, and WEF, ABC, or California State
textbooks to refer to.
There are no textbooks provided for this course.
While we cannot guarantee that by taking this course you will pass the Grade 3 and 4 exams, we do promise to give you a lot of practice and some study aides that should be a great help.  If time allows, we will also take one or more tours of various wastewater processes at the Grand Island WWTP.  These will be “walk-and-talk” tours that allow us to lay our eyes on multiple wastewater processes and that should enhance your learning.
